Dania Wierzbicki

Dania Wierzbicki, M.D. grew up in Bedford, Texas and obtained her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University. After completing medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, she stayed on at UTSW and Parkland hospital for her internal medicine training. Subsequently she worked for a year as a hospitalist treating inpatients at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She then returned to UT Southwestern to complete an Allergy and Immunology fellowship. Her husband’s training moved the family to Arizona, where she was in private practice for two years. Dr. Wierzbicki has now returned to Dallas and joined Dallas Allergy and Asthma Center in September 2009.

Dr. Wierzbicki is Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology and enjoys seeing both pediatric and adult patients. She treats a variety of allergic disorders including asthma, rhinitis, eczema, food allergy, and hives. She and her husband have two young children and in her spare time she likes to read, travel, and play with her kids.

What to Know for Winter:

Influenza Season is from November to March, peaking in December, January and February.

The flu is spread from person to person through coughing and sneezing via respiratory droplets.

Tips for Flu Season:

-Best time to get influenza shots - October or November.

-Frequent hand washing.

-Avoid close contact with people with viral infections.

-You can not get the flu from the influenza shot.

-Takes 2 weeks to develop complete immunity against influenza virus after shot.
